Annelise is currently a senior at Western Carolina University where she is pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre as well as a Minor in Dance. Annelise grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina, where she began dancing at the age of five. After her parents found her spinning and flipping around the house, they knew it was time to enroll her in class at the local studio. After a year of dance training under her belt, Annelise felt that at the tender age of six she was ready to audition for her school's junior production of Annie. Unfortunately, she was not cast but in true "Annelise fashion", she auditioned again the next year and landed the role of Bielke in Fiddler on the Roof.
Annelise's passion for the arts has only grown since. Throughout elementary and middle school, Annelise danced competitively and performed at several venues on the eastern part of the country. It was during high school when Annelise decided that she wanted to begin focusing on her singing, acting, and other musical theatre skills. She began to perform in the musicals at her high school and began taking voice lessons under Charles Coakley Jr. During this time she also joined the marching band, and is proficient in playing the flute and tenor saxophone!
It wasn't until the end of Annelise's junior year of high school that she realized she wanted to pursue theatre as a career. Throughout her senior year, she began the college search and auditioned for several universities and conservatories throughout the country. She followed her heart, and found herself in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. During her time at Western Carolina University, she has taken class under industry professionals and performed in several mainstage productions. During her free time, she enjoys working out, writing, cooking, or reading.
